Adventure, wildlife & photography

These are the things we love most. Since we left for Iceland in early 2023, we've been to places we could never have imagined in our wildest dreams.

Most of the time, we drive our 4x4 on the roads less traveled and are often rewarded with incredible landscapes, pure & wild wildlife encounters and solitude. If we aren't driving in our car, we are likely collaborating with someone to capture the beauty of wildlife and everything related to it.

Costa Rica

Currently exploring Costa Rica!

Honduras & Nicaragua

In El Salvador we discovered we had a problem: our camera equipment was not allowed into Nicaragua and we ran the risk of having it confiscated at the border. We decided that Pleun would bring all our equipment by plane from El Salvador to Costa Rica, and Martin would drive the car. It took Pleun 2 hours, but Martin 3 days; mainly because of the long and tedious border crossings. Sadly, this meant we didn't had the option to explore these countries in more depth, so here are a few photos Martin took along the way.

El Salvador

El Salvador wasn't an easy country for overlanding, and we found ourselves quite often sleeping next to farm animals at restaurants or locals. In the evening, noise would keep us awake till midnight, while the roosters would start continuously at 5 am again. Even though the beaches were beautiful and the people most often friendly, we decided to continue moving after exploring the country for two weeks.

Guatemala

Guatemala - the land of volcanoes, lush green jungles and very welcoming people. In northern Guatemala we found ancient temples, heard eery jungle sounds and got lost in the thick jungles. Communicating with the locals was challenging, as they mainly spoke one of the Mayan languages, but we always got it to work.

Southern Guatemala was a more hectic, polluted and busy, but landscapes dotted with volcanoes really made up for that. Guatemala really surprised us and we loved our time here!

Belize

Belize surprised really surprised us. The friendly and kind people, the relaxed 'island vibe' culture and the huge protected areas made it a country we fell in love with. We spent two weeks searching the hot tropical jungles and the Caribbean coast for the elusive jaguars, tropical birds and beautiful marine life.
